This blog we put together to encourage young moms. It is challenging being a mom. Often there is not a lot of encouragement for women to take the job of “mom” seriously. I have been a mom for almost 23 years. It is the best part of my life. I have 4 children. They are pretty much grown up now. I am the grandmother to Katherine. When I was in College, I took Family Studies courses and Early Childhood Education. I learned a lot from the courses that I have used a parent, but I also learned a lot of things that don’t work in real life.
I was inspired to write this by a friend who was expecting her fourth child and is unable to access a lot of the resources mom’s have these days since her husband’s occupation takes her away from the U.S. She does have occasional internet access. I told her that I would try to put something together to encourage her.
The picture in the header is a picture of my daughter Erin who is now a mother herself and me. The picture is over 20 years old. It seems like yesterday that I was a young mom trying to figure it all out. What I want to leave with every mom that reads this is that being a mom is the most important job or role you will have in your life. Enjoy the moments, they go by only too fast.
